Tap & Know — Making connections playful

Tap & Know pin prototypes in different colors and shapes

The Problem

Networking can be challenging, especially for creatives and designers.

The Solution

With Tap & Know, we aim to add a touch of playfulness to sharing your contacts. One tap from a phone opens your portfolio, Linktree, or any link you choose: no app, no friction, no awkward card exchanges. Set your link before the event, wear it, and let curiosity do the rest.

Ideation

We found it difficult to network with other creatives and professionals. As interaction designers, we tried to find alternative ways to make this process less awkward. To make the object portable and the interaction as intuitive as possible, we thought of making Tap & Know into a pin that creatives can attach to their outfits.

Prototype

We used Rhino 8 to model the shapes, and then 3D printed with PLA filament.

Interaction

To share your contacts, simply hand over the removable part from the pin and place it on the back of the receiver's phone.

Final Prototype

We explored five different shapes and colors for different moods and styles.
